Vidal's Honor

A couple weeks ago I read a short story called "Honors Dilemma." The book started out wonderful and had my attention right away and then when it was really great, it ended. Needless to say I was upset. It later came to my
attention that little short story was actually a prequel to this book, "Vidal's Honor." So when I found this out I had to get this book and finish what had been started. I was not disappointed.
I got so caught up in the mystery and intensity of the situations I was a little nervous for the characters. I myself
had a hard time with who was the good guys/girls or bad. You just really don't know and when you think you have it all figured out something happens and you doubt yourself. The end will surprise you.
I really enjoyed this book and I will not say too much in fear of giving away a great part in which the book
is filled with many. Thank you, Sherry Gloag for you brilliant writing. I look forward to the next one. Until then happy reading , everyone.

Adventurous!,
By What's Beyond Forks?
Vidal's Honor by Sherry Gloag was a book full of mystery, adventure and deception with a healthy dose of romance thrown in for good measure. Vidal's Honor by Sherry Gloag was provided to me by the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.

Honorable,
By Grew up with Nancy Drew "Bobbie"
I liked the intrigue of not knowing who to trust. The beginning was a good hook, it was toward the end that I had to force myself to finish. in fact, as I write, I am having trouble recalling how it ended.

Very nicely done!
By C. Yeko "Cheryl"
I enjoyed this story very much. It begins with a tragic loss, followed by danger and intrigue, along with a satisfying love story. The romance between the heroine and hero was sweet and I found myself anxious for their happy ending. I highly recommend Vidal's Honor to anyone who enjoys a well-written historical
romance.

Good read. I liked that it had a mystery.

It kept me hooked to the end. I had difficulty following exactly who was talking in some of the conversations but I got the jest of what was being said. Overall it was a good story.

good but a little confusing,
By Ellen C. Davis
Some of the names were very close and sometimes you didn't know the good guy from the bad guy. The basic story was interesting and not the usual swashbuckling tale.

Sorry - not my thing.

Is it just me or does historical in accuracy bother other people too? Arthur Wellesley was never Earl of anything. He was created Duke of Wellington plus a number of other titles. And the Earl of Wellesley was his brother. I just
didn't get engaged with the characters because the plot jumps got in the way.
Others have loved this but it's just not for me.

This book was a little confusing at first with the background information being hard to follow, but after getting into it I got it straight. It was a little unbelievable, but a good story.

Regency with Intrigue,
By Reader "Blue Crab Books"
I enjoyed the intrigue, the betrayals and dangerous trials the heroine faces in this richly detailed historical. Readers will sympathize with Lady Honor Beaumont's dilemma, newly widowed, accused of treason, and her hero, Vidal,
plus the deep-seated conflict between them. Kudos to the author for setting up such a great Regency plot.

This wasn't what I thought more an adventure story than a regency romance but I still liked it a lot. It was exciting and the mystery wasn't too difficult. My favorite scene was the "honeymooners" in the inn that was funny but you really did wonder if they'd be caught. This is a good read.

Cloak-and-dagger meets sweet romance,
By J. Gunnar Grey "author of Deal with the Devil"
This is a full-length novel, not a traditional Regency but a surprisingly intricate cloak-and-dagger, spy-and-adventure story with a generous splash of romance. The amount of plotting, organization, and research that went into this book's preparation leave me astonished. The clever, well-sorted resolution, and the sweet romance, are more than satisfying. I've been pleased with author Sherry Gloag's work before; this time, not even the occasional misplaced word or lacking quote marks dulled my delight nor stopped me from clicking through to
the next screen. Well done indeed, lady!

An Honorable Tale,
By Ruth J. Hartman
"Vidal's Honor" is a captivating book. It's rich in history and beautiful descriptions of the Spanish countryside where much of the story takes place. Honor and her husband have a very unusual marriage, in that almost all of it has been spent surrounded by an army and dying soldiers as the couple travels with the English army during 1812. The author's knowledge of the time period is obvious as well as interesting. And in the middle of all of this, there is a love story unfolding that will draw you in and hold your attention as you wait to see what will happen next. I highly recommend this book!
